Many clients own shares of mutual funds, ETF's and stocks and do not anticipate selling or buying more of those funds between Oct - Dec31st each tax year.
Tax Planning requires anticipating continuing and expected W-2 income, other kinds of income, expenses, deductions and even credit . . . but, but, and dividend payouts to tax clients, typically between Dec 15th-31st isn't always easy to capture.
Even though almost every publicly traded company and Fund, ETF will issue a dividend expectation (long term capital gains, vs. other) by late November at the latest.
What if Intuit "Tax Advisor" "Pro Forma Wizard" could take a client's securities holdings by Share-Symbol, #Shares, Owned by or before ____ (date) and then translate that to projection of 4th Qtr Dividends, Capital Gains, etc and add that to the client's income projection? That would save a chunk of time and make Intuit ProConnect, LaCerte and the professionals that use the software even "stickier" and more valuable to their/our clients!?
