Hello,

We were testing a return in Lacerte by creating a copy of an existing file, deleting the data, and then saving it. We then used SurePrep 1040 Scan to import data into the copied return to confirm the import process works. However, the data did not transfer into the copy.

Could this issue be happening because the original return already exists in the system?

Thank you

Hi @ksinger

Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting your first question! Here’s the integration guide from SurePrep, which includes an important note:

Don’t delete any proforma information before exporting data from SPbinder to tax software. You can delete proforma information from the tax software and SPbinder after the Export to the tax software is complete. Save the return after it is complete.

This may explain why the data didn’t transfer into the copied return. If following the guide doesn’t resolve the issue, we recommend reaching out to Lacerte Support for additional troubleshooting. However, since this relates to the import process, SurePrep Support may ultimately be the best next step.

We hope this helps get you back on track!
