I need to file a superceded tax return for an S Corp. Client has an automatic extension until 10/15/25 because of the Los Angeles fires. There is no issue with the IRS form 1120S to supercede but can't seem to do it for the FTB 100S.Error keeps showing that the due date was 3/17/25 and unable to supercede. No where in the software is anything relating to the disaster exemption. I called Intuit and was told I have to printout return and mail it to FTB indicating that this qualified under the disaster exemption.. Online it says that it can be Efiled.....Which one is it? If it can be efiled; how do I get rid of the error. Any guidance would be helpful. Thanks

The same thing with a 1040/540, the federal can be filed as superseded, but the CA one has to be filed as an amended.....its past the due date anyhow, can you still do superseded?  I thought that was only before the deadline, after the deadline its an amended return.

Deadline for iRS and FTB for fire related disaster areas in Los Angeles are an automatic 10/15/25 for. all returns . As I said before IRS has no issue with efile the superseded tax return. FTB does allow superseded tax returns. Intuit already confirmed all this . I just wanted to know if it can be efiled instead of mailed in.

The software doesn't get reprogrammed for state disaster extended due dates, so I think you're going to be stuck mailing it.   Im surprised the federal allows it past the 9/15 due date.
