Thus, when the full sales tax rate is known for a client, the preparer can enter the correct local sales tax rate by subtracting the rate Intuit has from the known total sales tax rate. When sales tax for an area is multi-layered (state, county, etc.), and the local rate is otherwise not apparent, this would allow proper entry.
