RITA MeF is available in Lacerte. This means Intuit has the knowledge and capability. Having e-file capabilities in Proseries would be a huge advantage to Preparers filing Ohio returns.

Thanks for the idea. We are changing the status to "Open for voting" since it has been around for over 30 days and no longer considered "New". If you have any questions on the life cycle of an idea, check out our Idea Exchange Getting Started Guide for more information.
This is a huge thing in the State of Ohio. E-filing with RITA would be a big time saver, and would avoid potential tax notices to clients. I do not understand how Intuit can provide in one tax software (Lacerte), but not the other. A great deal of small practices in Ohio would greatly benefit from this. I have often found than this feature offered by ATX, is a deciding factor for many small firms when deciding to either go with ATX or ProSeries.
Any more Ohio tax preparers out there? It would be so nice to have this implemented for 2023 so I don't have to switch to Lacerte (or somewhere else) for 2023! Proseries did not efile IT-4738 for 2022 either so one more reason to move away.
I voted for it too to help the tax preparers across the state line. But don't hold your breath. Intuit does a good job on the Federal, I.E. usually it does, but doesn't place as much priority on the state modules, so I wouldn't expect anything to come of it.
As mentioned, Intuit know how to do this, as RITA e-file works in ProConnect and Lacerte. Please keep your product current. RITA covers over 360 cities, more than 50% of the state and about 4 million tax payers.
I have been asking for RITA MeF for several years. Proseries does not seem to be responsive. Below is a list of providers who do offer RITA MeF. Has anyone considered the competition.
