For an individual that receives many 1099-NEC's or 1099-MISC's, it would be extremely helpful if we could put them in some type of order, preferably alphabetical.
Why are you entering all of them in the first place? Just enter the total income where it belongs. I think you only need to enter individually if there is federal or state withholding.

In response to SJRCPA: My client is a contractor who receives 1099's from clients AND receives other income for which he does not receive a 1099. Due to the nature of this business, the 1099's will change from year to year. I like to keep them in order. And I know that the IRS has received a copy as well.
I believe your idea is a good one and may save some time but, since the 1099's are part of the workpapers, I like to enter them as received. Now, I think it would also be nifty if ProSeries provided an input screen (maybe in Entry Mode) which would allow summarized input, like into a spreadsheet, but I don't think that exists.
