We urgently need the ability to suppress the printing of local returns that are set for e-file with the government filing copy.
In Oregon, we now have 3 local returns that are set to e-file, as well as 1 new state return that is e-filed at the corporate level. All 4 of these returns print, with all required supplemental Fed/state copies, in the government copy of the return. We are either having to shred sometimes 30 or more pieces of paper per return, or slow down our process even more by printing it to PDF and selecting what pages to print around the unnecessary pages. This is so cumbersome and wasteful.
The specific returns in our case are MC-40, MET-40, SP-2022, and OR-21.
You've probably tried this, but just in case, this is where I always start with these issues.
Go to Settings>Options(or Master options for all workstations)>Items To Print>
From the Copy box on the left select Government>In the Print Order - Government Copy box to the right check or uncheck items you don't want included in that copy.
This won't allow you to to necessarily select specific local forms, but if you try unchecking State Tax Return and only have State e-file Signature Form, you might get closer?
Thank you @pamdory but unfortunately that makes all state forms not print either ☹️ IIRC not even state payment vouchers. We still have some local returns that can't be e-filed... On some returns, for example, I will have 2 e-filed local returns & 2 paper-filed local returns. I truly hope there aren't more states like this! (Although ALL of these returns e-file with the Fed 8879 at least)
I came here to ask the same thing to turn off the government filing copy of those forms when we are electronically filing them but do print them when we are not. I hate wasting that many papers each time. Please add this option to Lacerte as soon as possible!
