It does not make sense that the cost of filing a superseded tax return is not included with the cost of filing the original return. The reasons for filing a superceded return are the same for amended returns. The only difference is that you file the superseded return if your tax due date has not passed.
Please remove the requiremnt to purchase another return for filing superseded tax returns.
Yes it is. You’re trying to do a new file. Create a copy of the existing client return so you have a version as it was originally filed, and then do the superseded return in the file where you originally filed the return. it does not cost an extra e-file credit.
I can confirm it does cost an e-file credit. I followed the steps as listed and had to purchase a credit. Once that is done, request a refund of the duplicate charge herehttps://accounts.intuit.com/app/oirr. You select Intuit then Proconnect tax. For a duplicate charge they normally approve the request type as credit back onto the account. you would need to include the name of the return the duplicate credit was used on. As long as they can find that proof then they will approve the request.
For business returns:
Make a copy of the return after the initial return has been filed and accepted.
Go toGeneral⮕Electronic Filing⮕Superseded.
Select the File superseded return box.
Transmit the copied return with the superseded checkbox marked.
