The following diagnostic is generating:

The Utah Credit for Tax Paid to Other States (screen 52) cannot be overridden on e-file returns.

Solution:

Go to Screen 52 – Other State Tax Credit Go to Utah:

• Delete or clear the override amount

Let Lacerte automatically calculate the credit using:

• Income properly sourced to other states
• Actual tax paid to those states (usually via K-1s or W-2s)

If you must override the amount due to a special situation:

• You will need to paper file the Utah return.
