In Tax Return options (Settings>Options>Tax Return Options) you can select Yes to Suppress SSN. On schedule 1125-E it works. Then in complete contradiction it prints the full social security number on Schedule G. Am I missing another suppress option somewhere, or has this been completely overlooked by Lacerte development?
If you select "Mask Social Security #" on the "Print Tax Return" pop-up screen, I show that it asterisks it out on both 1125-E and Schedule G.
If you press F1 on that "settings" option, it reads, "Choose Yes to remove Social Security Numbers from all tax return documents where taxing agencies do not require SSNs. Choose No to print Social Security Numbers on all tax return documents whether or not taxing agencies require a SSN." So I think that setting is a different objective than what you're working to accomplish.
This is not the answer I am looking for. There is a bug in the program. I do not want a client copy tax return with DO NOT FILE stamped across it. I want a copy with the social security numbers of officers redacted from a corporate return.
Hi @CECIII thanks for posting! The best course of action, if you haven’t already, is to reach out to Lacerte Support so they can review and report this if needed. You can contact them here: Lacerte Support. Have a great rest of deadline and we look forward to seeing you in the community.
