As a tax professional, staying on top of e-file acknowledgments in Lacerte is unnecessarily cumbersome. Currently, the software requires us to manually log in, hunt through acknowledgments, and monitor the dashboard to determine if a client’s return was rejected by the filing authority. This is inefficient and risks missed deadlines when a rejection goes unnoticed.

Suggested Solution:

Please implement a feature that emails the preparer immediately when a return is rejected. This ensures the preparer is alerted in real time without having to check the software manually. Most competitors now offer similar functionality, and it aligns with the fast-paced demands of tax practice.

For even greater value, please also implement an optional client notification email that sends automatically when a return is electronically filed and subsequently accepted. Thompson Reuters UltraTax already offers this, and clients greatly appreciated the instant confirmation without the preparer having to follow up manually.
