I am receiving a error code 4-0 when trying to print a return. States entitlement components or NET framework may be missing or  damaged. I up dated  my installed products. I am the administrator as I tried their suggestions. I just got this computer back from being up dated. I know support is closed on the weekend but has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it. I will be calling support on Monday but just looking for another way around this.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

Thank you. This morning I did contact support, spoke to a very knowledgeable representative. she was on the phone with me for about 45 minutes , walking me thru the steps. she was very patient, kind and literally talked me down from my ledge. I have always received good advice from either the community or Support when needed. For a Monday, well  this is a great start

Hey, I have had experience dealing with that 4-0 error in the past, and it tends to mean there is a .NET Framework or Entitlement Components issue, as you pointed out. And since you updated your software; repair install helps fix missing or corrupt components. I would try this first before Monday:

  • Go to Control Panel → Programs → Programs & Features, find your TurboTax/Intuit product, select "Repair," and that should help.
  • Make sure you have all your Windows updates applied, especially .NET Framework updates.
  • Reboot your computer after the repair is completed.

It usually fixes it pretty quickly and I have seen this error disappear after a repair. If it does not, probably when you talk to support on Monday they will have you reinstall Entitlement components.
