The following diagnostic is generating:
For income tax purposes, New York City includes the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. Currently one of these boroughs' codes is entered as the school district. However, NYC/Yonkers residency is entered as "No" in "Client Information" screen for full-year resident and if part-year resident no dates for NYC residency is entered in the "New York Change of City Resident Status" screen. Please review your input in the client information screen or confirm that the taxpayer isn't subject to New York City Income tax.
Solution:
Check the following inputs in client information screen or confirm that the taxpayer isn't subject to New York City Income tax: Screen 1 Client information NYC/Yonkers Resident box If part-year resident State & Local>54 Taxes>New York Change of City Resident Status that dates are entered. If they are not a resident: Click on the diagnostic from the Diagnostics tab Remove the School District #. Critical, will not prevent e-file transmission.

Hello - below is the correct solution:
NYC Part year resident information is entered on Screen 54, however it does not clear the diagnostic, which is not e-file critical. This would not prevent the return from being e-filed.
On Screen 1 you would enter "No" under New York Information for the NYC resident status.
