Parents of child born in 2024 have been trying to get an SSN for this child.
Hasn't been successful for a variety of reasons.
When I enter "Applied For" under child's SSN in the dependents section, I get a this error message:Dependent #1: Social security number is invalid. A valid SSN must be between 001-01-0001 through 665-99-9999 and 667-01-0001 through 899-99-9999 or must be a valid ITIN or ATIN. US - Ref #344
This is a EF CRITICAL DIAGNOSTIC.
Should I just click "Ignore" and hope that it goes through?
Thanks in advance, Christopher

The return isn't going to e-file, so ignoring and hoping for the best is not going to get you any further than you are right now.
Also, I'm pretty sure you get no Child Tax Credit if the child doesn't have an SSN by the extended due date of the return. See here: https://www.irs.gov/faqs/filing-requirements-status-dependents/dependents/dependents
