For one of my clients federal tax return is accepted but CA state tax return is rejected. The reason for rejection is stated as "The Spouse/RDP (SSN) cannot match a previously accepted return unless the
(AmendedReturn) checkbox is checked.DataValue=Spouse SSN is [social security number removed] .
XPath=/CA-ReturnHeader/Filer/SpouseRDP/SSNDocumentID=NotApplicableErrorID=3"
Not sure why this is happening?

Sounds like someone filed a CA return using your clients SSN.
Paper filing would be your only option Im afraid.
