Read new rules effective September 30, 2025.

I've been providing a "green sheet" attachment to tax returns for years with Federal and all applicable state websites for tax payments. I guess the envelope printing lobby failed.

The majority of my clients will fall under the national security related exception.  They don't want the IRS to have their banking information.  With the lack of proper staffing at the IRS they are afraid the IRS doesn't have adequate staffing to keep their information safe from hackers. 😜

@IRonMaN When your clients send a payment, how do they prevent IRS from having their banking information?  It's printed right there on the check.  Do they buy a money order instead?

The IRS website still has instructions on how to pay with cash:

In person at one of our IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs)
Call 844-545-5640 to schedule an appointment at an IRS TAC that accepts cash.
You should call 30 to 60 days before the day you want to pay.
IRS TACs that accept cash have security checkpoints to ensure your safety. Our specially trained staff will help make the process as efficient as possible for you.

Geez Bob, out of everybody here, I thought the guy that still paper files returns would play along with me for a little while anyway. 😧

I don't file any returns, I just prepare them.
