2024 Frozen

After logging in, ProSeries freezes in a 2x3 inch box. It is completely frozen and cannot be expanded. I have tried running as administrator, uninstalling and re-installing to no avail. I am running ProSeries Professional as a standalone on a Windows 11 computer. Client files are accessed from a server.

I get that too, but then after 30 seconds or so it flashes a message that says, well, I don't recall what it says, I just close it by tapping the X a few times, and then it loads the program.  I think it's caused by my WiFi speed slowing down, I should try turning the 5G modem (or is that thing called the router?) off and on.

Turned off my computer, pressed the Reset button on my AT&T 5G gizmo, waited a few minutes, restarted the computer, ran a speed test, it's back to normal download speed, not the slow speed of a few days ago.  started ProSeries 24 program, no problems.

I noticed that it started freezing up this year and it didn't do this before. I just wait it out and after a few minutes it is okay.

I installed ProSeries 2024 on a new Windows 11 standalone computer and got the same problem...after entering the two-factor authentication code, ProSeries opens to a 2 inch by 3 inch box and freezes.  Can't resize the window, can't click on anything without the computer simply "dinging".  Can't exit the program with the upper right X in the corner.  Only way to close the program is by ending the task through the task manager.  Tried all the things mentioned by everyone in this thread, but to no avail.  “Waiting it out” does nothing either.

My first guess it is another pop-up window, such as one of those stupid Intuit surveys.

It may be hidden due to your computer resolution.  Have you tried changing your resolution in Windows to see if it now shows more stuff (such a survey window)?

Or can you hold down the "Alt" button and click "Tab" to 'switch' the active window to ProSeries, rather than a survey window?  Well, this may not work though because ProSeries is forcing the survey window to override the main program.  I would try the resolution thing.

Good thought, but there are no other open windows, confirmed with Alt-Tab

What you suggested made lots of sense to me, due to the fact that the "dings" seemed to indicate that ProSeries wanted something from me other than things like resizing or maximizing the tiny window, clicking on the Title Bar or anywhere else within the window continued to cause it to ding.  Changing resolutions and using Alt-Tab revealed nothing.  Then, in an act of desperation, I tried grabbing the Title Bar and moving the Window to a different part of the screen...it didn't move a bit, but when I let go of the mouse button a new window popped up informing me of new columns added by ProSeries to the HomeBase View (as though I cared).  When I closed that new window, ProSeries started behaving correctly, so thanks for the help!!!

And you thank you for letting us know how you got it to work; we may be able to help others that have similar problems.
